Are Fabuwood cabinets any good?
Fabuwood is an established, large cabinet maker, not a fly-by-night import brand. It was founded in 2009 by Joel Epstein, started out assembling made-to-order cabinets in a Jersey City warehouse, and now runs from its headquarters in Newark, New Jersey with more than 1,400 employees. In 2024 it acquired Plain and Fancy, a custom cabinet maker. Every series carries what Fabuwood calls Q12-certified construction, and cabinets bought since October 1, 2024 come with a limited lifetime warranty. What cabinet series does Fabuwood sell?
Fabuwood's warranty names five cabinet series: Allure, Illume, Value Premium, Quest and Valencia. The company also offers Custom Works for custom colors and sizes, and sells through authorized dealers rather than direct. Which warranty applies depends on the series and the purchase date:

What does the Fabuwood warranty not cover?
- Later owners. It covers the first residential purchaser only and is not transferable.
- Rentals and commercial use. Rental, commercial and multi-unit common areas are excluded unless Fabuwood approves them in writing.
- Uncontrolled rooms. Cabinets in spaces without year-round climate control, or exposed to excessive humidity, heat, cold or prolonged sunlight, are excluded.
- Everything around the cabinets. Appliances, countertops and plumbing fixtures are not covered, nor is damage from improper installation, flooding or other acts of nature.
How do Fabuwood cabinets hold up in Florida humidity?
The warranty answers this better than any marketing: Fabuwood expects its cabinets to live in a climate-controlled room. In an air-conditioned Brevard County kitchen that is normal. Where Fabuwood is a poor fit is anywhere the AC is off or the space is open to outdoor air, such as a garage, an outdoor kitchen, a screened lanai or a seasonal condo left closed for the summer. For those spaces, choose a cabinet built and warranted for outdoor or uncontrolled use.
Who is Fabuwood best for?
Fabuwood fits owner-occupied homes where the kitchen is air-conditioned year-round and the owner wants a semi-custom look from an established manufacturer at a dealer price. It is a weaker choice for rentals and vacation rentals, because the warranty excludes rental use without written approval, and for buyers who want a warranty that passes to the next owner. It can. In a Florida home that is air-conditioned all year this is rarely an issue in the kitchen, but it matters for a garage, an outdoor kitchen, a lanai or a seasonal home where the AC is shut off for months.
